Church Addition

Originally, Baptist was not a name that people chose for themselves; rather, opponents gave the name because Baptists reject infant baptism and only baptized believers. The easiest way to describe a Baptist church today is by the use of this acrostic.

Some churches have chosen to remove the word Baptist from their name, seeing it as divisive. However, having these convictions based upon the Word of God leads Calvary Baptist Church to humbly bear the name.

The governing power of Calvary Baptist Church rests entirely with the body of members of this local church. We are a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant, having no ecclesiastical connection with any other church or organization.

We are a Christian fellowship who desires to reach out in love and compassion to people; believing and defending the whole Bible as the absolute, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. We believe in the unqualified acceptance of, and obedience to, the Scriptures.1

The Bible is God's Word to men. It is complete, without error, and is our sole guide and standard for faith and living.

The Bible teaches that man apart from salvation through Christ is lost and bound for an eternity in Hell (Matthew 18:3; Luke 13:3). Having compassion for those who are lost, and desiring to be obedient to the Bible (Matthew 28:19-20), we earnestly seek opportunities to share God's salvation message.
